5 Kid-Friendly Crafting Activities With Pom-Poms

Kid Friendly Pom Pom CraftsThis is my first post over here about kid-friendly craft ideas. I keep doing some kid-friendly crafts periodically with my daughter and also my niece. I find that such activities helps in keeping them engaged productively, improves their skills and activates their imagination greatly. So today I am going to write about 5 crafty activities that you can try with pom-poms. Pom-poms are an all-time favourite at our home and they are also easily available and quite inexpensive. So let’s get started!

1.Learn Colours With Pom-Pom Rainbow

Age group:

2-3 years

What you need:

  • Pom-Poms
  • Paper
  • Glue
  • Colour pencils/markers

How to:

Pick a few different colours of pom-poms and draw as many concentric semi-circles correspondingly with different coloured markers. Draw small circles inside the arcs either freehand or using a small coin.

Now apply glue on each circle and guide your child to place the pomp oms one by one as you teach them each colour. Let it dry and then hang it up!

2.Make A Colourful Pom-Pom Caterpillar

What you need:

  • Pom-Poms
  • Wooden cloth peg
  • Needle & Thread
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Straw

How to:

Pom pom caterpillar

Take the wooden cloth peg and start putting glue on the top side. Ask your child to place one pomp om after another, close to each other until the top part of the peg is fully covered. Now place googly eyes or you can stick peppercorns or draw the eyes with a black marker. Next take a straw and cut two small bits. Place that on the first pom-pom – these are the antennas of the caterpillar. Done!

If you have slightly smaller kids who are comfortable and careful with using a needle and thread, then you can also thread the pom-poms together to make a caterpillar like shown below.
