Review: Education.Com – A Fun Website For Parents & Kids!

Good morning!

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve sort of begun looking out for schools for Ms.G. She would be starting Kindergarten next year and the application processes begin by the end of this year. I was one of those kids who loved going to school. Both my parents were working in 9-5 jobs and it used to get really boring to sit at home by myself the whole day. So I definitely looked forward to going to school every day and would often wait eagerly for the summer holidays to end soon! Continue reading

Local Attraction Review: Al Noor Island

Al Noor Island Sharjah

If there is one place in the UAE, where you can almost forget that you are in a desert, even if you sit outside and close your eyes, that has got to be Al Noor Island in Sharjah. This lovely little island is so cool and calm, filled with a wide variety of trees and plants which lend a naturally lush and verdant feel to it. This green vegetation attracts a lot of birds and it is delightful to hear them all twittering and chattering away to their heart’s content. Combine this with water gently lapping on the shore and you have a perfect slice of paradise under your feet! Continue reading

Local Attraction Review: Mattel Play! Town

Kid-Friendly Play Zone in Dubai

I had reviewed Green Planet in City Walk sometime back on this blog. When my daughter and I were visiting Green Planet, I noticed another placed called Mattel Play! Town in City Walk, which also seemed like an interesting place for kids. I made a mental note to visit it some other day. I came back home and did some googling about this new place and read a lot of good stuff about it as a result of which I decided to include it in my mommy bucket list.

A few weeks later, Cobone, the super awesome deals website in the UAE was running a competition and I happened to win! Yay! Thanks Cobone! Continue reading

Local Attraction Review: Green Planet

I’ve been hearing some good stuff about Green Planet located in CityWalk Dubai for the past few months. It had been on my wish list for a few weeks and one cloudy March morning I decided to check them out along with Ms.G.

CityWalk itself is a pretty gorgeous neighbourhood without a doubt. The broad and spacious sidewalks, the clean and wide roads, the chic restaurants lining the streets and the fashionable crowd milling about – it’s quite a lovely sight indeed.

REVIEW: Cookiie Pie Soft Structured Baby Carrier

You know the umpteen number of things that we buy for our little ones, many of which end up being utterly useless and a total waste of time and money? Well, I too have a load of such stuff. However one item that I completely do not regret buying is our baby carrier. When Ms. G was a little over 3 months we started using a wrap by Moby, which happened to be a gift from a close friend. No doubt this wrap is a good one and we certainly did enjoy using it; but all that tying and untying involved in a wrap made it a little cumbersome to use. So, I wanted to get a buckle up kind of carrier which seemed to be easier to use. Continue reading

REVIEW:Antenatal Classes at Dwi Maternity Studio

I had heard about people attending prenatal classes but had always assumed that such classes took place only abroad. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Dwi Maternity Studio from a few friends long before I got pregnant. So when the stork eventually decided to pay me a visit, I thought it might be a good idea to join a reputed prenatal class. I signed up for prenatal sessions at Dwi around April 2014. The sessions are spaced out over the course of the pregnancy and hence I continued attending all the classes till September. Continue reading
